Sydney, Australia – March 16, 2017 – Toshiba Clients Solutions ANZ today announced the availability of the much anticipated Portégé® X20 for its Australian and New Zealand customers. The premium 2-in-1 convertible PC equipped with the latest 7th Generation Intel® Core™ vPro Processors, runs Windows 10 Pro and promises to be both a laptop and tablet and everything in between.

“In the Portégé X20, we developed a professional grade 2-in-1 convertible PC eliminating the need to choose between a laptop, a tablet or even a notepad,” said Justin White, Product Marketing Manager, Toshiba “From the perspective of performance, mobility, battery life and usability, the Portégé X20 epitomises what the future of mobile computing will look like for the foreseeable future.”

To meet the performance demands of the modern workplace, the Portégé X20 encompasses the latest 7th Generation Intel® Core™ vPro, promising to deliver advancements in security, performance, productivity, manageability and streamlined connectivity. In addition the Portégé X20 runs Windows 10 Pro, has a 12.5-inch diagonal Full HD multi-touch wide viewing angle display, Intel® 802.11ac Wi-Fi® and a PCIe solid state drive all inside its durable magnesium casing. Measuring 15.4mm thin and weighing from 1.1kg, the Portégé X20 has a battery life rating of up to 13 hours and encompasses enterprise-level security through the adoption of facial authentication and Trusted Platform Module Technologies.

One Solution, Five Modes: The Portégé X20 convertible 2-in-1 laptop features a sturdy 360-degree dual-action hinge, enabling smooth transitions into five core viewing modes—Laptop, Tablet, Tabletop, Presentation and Audience. Tackle the day with a slim, high-performance laptop, flip the screen to conduct presentations, be entertained or create through an engaging tablet and digital inking experience. When changing modes, the laptop smartly switches system settings and uses a smart-locking feature to protect the keyboard and prevent mishaps.

Gorgeous 1080p Display: Visual Impact: A 12.5-inch diagonal, Full HD (1920 x 1080), multi-touch wide viewing angle display packs over 2 million pixels onto the screen. Text is sharper and easier to read. Colour and quality is spot on. And to top it all off, the display of the Portégé X20 is reinforced with all-new Corning® Gorilla® Glass, which offers higher levels of damage resistance as it’s better able to withstand the shock of accidental bumps.

Amazingly Natural Handwriting: Coupling the 12.5-inch diagonal display with Toshiba’s exclusive TruPen® incorporating Wacom® Feel technology, allows Toshiba’s 2-in-1 convertible PC to deliver a professional grade digital handwriting experience enhanced by an antiglare coating. Toshiba’s TruPen can detect 2,048 levels of pressure, giving users a natural pen-on-paper writing experience, making the Portégé X20 perfect for taking notes, drawing, capturing signatures and completing forms. To deliver a realistic and accurate inking experience, the Portégé X20 uses a feature called Toshiba Digital Ink Assist to detect when the digital pen is near the screen and disables the touch screen preventing unwanted cursor movement or accidental writing.

Leading-Edge Security Features: Toshiba developed the Portégé X20 with facial authentication technologies to deliver an advanced level of security. The Portégé X20 features two IR cameras to allow for facial authentication via Windows Hello face sign-in. This technology is personal, secure and a password-free way to quickly log-in to your device.

Windows 10 Pro: With a pair of IR cameras, multi-directional microphones, touchscreen and an AES pen, Toshiba engineered the Portégé X20 to maximize the advanced features of Microsoft’s powerful operating system such as Windows Hello, Cortana, Microsoft Edge and Windows Ink.

A Commanding 360° Sound System: The Portégé X20 laptop delivers a premium audio experience via Harman Kardon® stereo speakers and DTS Sound™ software. Toshiba’s exclusive custom-tuned speakers adapt to the rotational view of the display, delivering a robust, crisp and natural audio from every angle.

Modern Ports with Expanded Capabilities: To achieve its slim profile, the Portégé X20 has a USB Type-C™ port, USB 3.0 port and headphone/mic combo port. As the industry’s new universal standard, the USB Type-C port on the Portégé X20 features reversible plug orientation and supports Display, Power Delivery and Thunderbolt™ 3 with connectivity of up to 40Gbps. Toshiba will offer multiple USB Type-C™ Adapters for expansion and to connect legacy accessories. The five USB Type-C adapters will support power delivery to charge the Portégé X20 while connecting to devices such as an external monitor simultaneously.
